Job Purpose

The Business Head of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the facility, ensuring efficient and effective processing of recyclable materials. This role involves strategic planning, business development, team management, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations

. Principal Accountabilities/Key Results Area

• Oversee daily operations of the MRF, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
• Develop and implement business strategies to enhance the facility’s profitability and sustainability
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets for recyclable materials
• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Ensure the facility complies with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and the community
• Achieve and maintain high levels of operational efficiency, reducing downtime and increasing throughput
• Meet or exceed financial targets, including revenue, profit margins, and cost savings
• Successfully enter new markets and secure new business contracts, increasing the facility’s market share
• Ensure that all processed materials meet industry quality standards and client specifications
• Maintain full compliance with all environmental regulations and reporting requirements
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and safety awareness
• Lead and complete projects aimed at improving recycling processes and adopting new technologies
• Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable service and quality products
