The Finance Manager role is a critical part of the organisation, undertaking a broad range of tasks and responsibilities for not only our client’s business, but also for the wider group companies. In a nutshell, the role entails the following tasks:
1. Credit Control • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts receivable and payable • Develop and maintain robust credit control procedures tailored to our client base • Proactively manage outstanding payments and resolve queries with professionalism • Monitor cash flow and support financial planning 2. Management Accounting • Monitoring and reporting on the amount of cash on hand, capital budgeting, loan covenant compliance, any overdue accounts receivable and project profitability 3. Invoicing & Financial Reporting • Prepare and issue accurate invoices in line with service delivery • Maintain financial records and support month-end and year-end processes • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions • Provide clear, actionable financial insights to leadership 4. Processing Expenses • Management and payment of expenses through the Xero system and the internal expenses policy 5. Payroll • Processing changes to pay and terms and conditions (including salary sacrifice) • Submitting the relevant information to the payroll bureau to ensure accurate monthly payments are made to all employees • Coordinating the payroll to HR processes, such as holiday and absence management to ensure that 6. Compliance • Auditing pay and terms and conditions of new and existing employees, including National Minimum Wage audits and equal pay audits legislation • Developing internal processes to ensure that they are FCA compliant 7. HR Admin • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR documentation • Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes (including calculating final pay and generating P45s) • Ensure compliance with internal policies and referring queries to our HR consultants where appropriate
