Key Responsibilities
• Operate forklift to pick up incoming shipments, transport materials to designated storage areas, and deliver items to production lines or shipping docks.
• Load and unload trucks/trailers safely, securing loads when necessary.
• Stack and organize materials in racks, shelves, and storage locations, ensuring clear aisles and safe load heights.
• Handle pallets, drums, boxes, crates, and other items with care.
• Conduct pre-use inspections of forklifts (check brakes, steering, controls, warning devices, tires) and report any issues or damage.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, including wearing PPE (personal protective equipment), maintaining proper speed & load limits,
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of stock as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and ensuring clear pathways.
• Collaborate with team, communicate with supervisors about schedules, materials, and truck arrival/departure.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and help improve workflow efficiencies when possible.
Qualifications & Skills
• SSE, Diploma, or ITI.
• Proven experience operating forklifts in warehouse or distribution center environments.
• Ability to safely handle heavy loads, operate lifts, reach high racks, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Basic math skills (for counting, measuring, stacking loads).
• Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and strong spatial awareness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Valid forklift certification or license is an added advantage
• 2-4 years of experience in Forklift Operation
Working Conditions
• Working environment with exposure to noise, forklifts and other moving equipment, varying temperatures
• Shift work may include nights, weekends, overtime during peak periods.
