Basic Functions:
The basic function of the Project Inspectors is to perform inspection services to verify the quality EPC work during the course of the projects.
Scope
The incumbent will monitor and/or perform quality activities at all stages of projects. The incumbent will ensure contractor's work is in compliance with all applicable requirements including without limitation SAUDI ARAMCO engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications, and Schedule Q of the project contract. The incumbent will provide training to others as and when required. Duties may require physical exertion, working outdoors, confined spaces, high elevations, and remote work locations, and on or offshore
Principal duties:
- Perform "Hold", "Witness" and "Surveillance" inspections and tests at manufacturing facilities or construction sites to ensure compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO requirements and project specifications.
- Inspect material and equipment as applicable to ensure compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO requirements for proper
- handling, storage and protection at SAUDI ARAMCO facilities and/or construction sites.
- Monitor Contractor's Quality Systems, records and Quality Personnel for compliance with requirements.
- Review and evaluate Contractor's Quality document submittals.
- Witness on-site and off-site material and installations tests for compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO standards.
- Record legibly and accurately all controversial and noncomplying construction practices, materials and equipment
- and report to supervisor detailed potential problems for early resolution.
- Write inspection reports and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Worksheets (WSs) and Equipment
- Deficiency Report (EDRs) as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least four (4) years of experience in Mechanical inspection. OR two (2) years industrial/technical College
- Diploma plus a minimum of eight (8) years of mechanical inspection experience.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of applicable international standards.
- Demonstrated full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods
- Inspector shall demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the National Electric Code/NFPA 70, or equivalent standards.
- He shall also have working knowledge of electrical installations including materials, methods, specifications, and hazardous location identification for oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
- He must be NFPA 70 Certified or equivalent.
- He shall satisfy the requirements of a fully qualified Instrument Technician/ Engineer meeting the requirements laid out by the Instrument Society of America or the Institute of Measurement Control
