SUMMARY:

Looking for skilled resource for role of Implementation & Support Technical Lead for Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions including but not limited to: Server OS (Windows and Linux), Virtualization (VMware & Hypervisor), Storage, and Backup, etc. Resource shall ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the server environments and support virtualization, storage solutions, and data backup systems. The resource will also be actively engaged and fully accountable for implementing the technologies mentioned above, at Jumbo's end customer locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation & Migration of Various technologies & Solutions

• Installation and establishing interconnectivity of physical servers and Storage systems.
• Installation of OS / Hypervisor on the servers.
• Creating farms / clusters of the servers as per customer's requirements.
• Installation / configuration of Hyper V, VMWare (vcenter, esxi etc) and related VMs templates etc.
• Verifying the installation as per BOQ and technical requirements and assist them with any technical support they might require.
• Troubleshooting and expansion of current production and running systems.
• Migrate existing physical servers to virtual environments using tools like VMware vCenter Converter or Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit.
• Migrations of VMs from one hypervisor to another, or to / from cloud and vice versa.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines for implementation and migration projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and communication strategies.

Server OS Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues related to OS and hardware.
• Utilize tools like SolarWinds, OEM Tools, etc. to monitor server health, analyze performance metrics, and conduct regular audits to identify potential issues.
• Patch Management: Implement regular updates and patches to operating systems to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies.

Virtualization:

• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to optimize resource allocation and improve system performance.
• Create and manage virtual machines and ensure high availability.
• Capacity Management - Analyze usage trends and forecast future needs to ensure optimal resource distribution across the virtual infrastructure.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions within virtual environments to minimize downtime and data loss, utilizing features like VMware SRM or Hyper-V Replica.

Storage Solutions:

• Administer storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS) ensuring efficient data retrieval and redundancy.
• Implement storage policies and monitor disk usage.

Backup Management:

• Implement backup strategies using tools like Veeam or Commvault.
• Monitor backup jobs and generate reports on their success or failure, addressing any issues promptly to maintain data integrity.
• Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system architectures, configurations, and migration processes to facilitate future reference and audits.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Document incidents and resolutions in a ticketing system (e.g., Freshservice, ManageEngine, etc.), analyzing trends to identify potential areas for improvement.
• Generate reports on system performance and incidents.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work with cross-functional teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support and training to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have system integrator (SI) experience (Companies which provide system solutions).
• Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Proven experience in Installation & migration activities along with server administration, virtualization, and storage management.
• Proficiency with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
