Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Joinery Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for joinery projects, encompassing materials, labor, and additional expenses. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the financial feasibility of projects while meeting client expectations and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project drawings and specifications to define the scope of work and identify required materials for joinery projects.
• Prepare and issue Request for Information (RFI) to clients for clarification on any missing or incomplete details.
• Develop and send Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages to suppliers and subcontractors, following up on responses.
• Compare supplier and subcontractor pricing to determine the most competitive options.
• Verify material quantities needed for project execution.
• Review bid documents, attend pre-bid meetings, and conduct site visits to gather essential information and clarify project requirements.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project goals.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and the procurement team to develop cost-effective solutions, incorporating value engineering where appropriate.
• Conduct research on materials, labor, and equipment costs to ensure precision in estimates.
• Submit timely and competitive bids to clients and contractors, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Monitor and track project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring alignment with initial estimates.
• Provide clear and accurate progress reports to project stakeholders.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and improve estimation processes.

Education & Skills:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Professional certifications in estimating or construction management (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)) are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in joinery estimation, ideally within the construction or fit-out industry.
• Solid technical and market knowledge.
• Familiarity with local authority standards and regulations, including QCS, QCDD, GSAS, and LEED.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in estimation software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on prioritization.
