Roles & Responsibilities
- Review the Architectural drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by the Design Consultant(s) at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness, correctness, and compliance with the scope of work and agreement requirements.
- Monitor architectural works such as internal fit-out work and outdoor landscaping.
- Develop systems for reporting to monitor and track Architectural and technical issues.
- Establish and implement the supervision consultant’s procedures for quality checks and site inspections for Architectural works and monitor and direct processes to address all architectural site-related issues.
- Acquire a detailed understanding of contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, Architectural works interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedules to supervise and monitor the Contractor's works properly.
- Be a major player in the coordination and sequencing of different works disciplines.
- Inspect, report, and instruct the Contractor on remedial works, then approve and sign off once done to ensure full conformance with the D&B contract.
- Review, approve, and monitor the Contractor’s Quality Control Plan, proposals for conformance, and the Contractor’s procedures manuals applicable to the Works, including method statements and monitor the Contractor’s adherence thereto.
- Issue non-conformance reports (NCR) for any part of the Work.
- Respond to reasonable technical queries, clarifications, and the like raised by the Contractor.
- Confirm that the Contractor’s shop drawings, materials/samples, product data, inspection and test reports, prototypes, mock-ups, and other submittals are strictly in compliance with the drawings, specifications, and schedules approved by the Design Review Consultant appointed by the Client.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with the Contractor on the site, as required, for coordination and progress-related issues and arrange technical meetings as required, including chairing the meetings, where applicable, and preparing and distributing the minutes.
- Attend Technical meetings with the Design Consultant(s) and other Sub- Consultants, Contractor, and Client’s Team.
- Check that the Contractor prepares and maintains Project records, including as-built drawings, as the Works proceed.
- Issue the punch lists and other outstanding works forming part of the Taking-Over Certificates.
- Review the Contractor’s interim and final payment applications to identify any specific concerns regarding the conformance of the installed works and materials on-site to the D&B Contract requirements and any outstanding defects.
- Assist project team in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or schedule changes and prepare recommendations on claims - approval or rejection.
- Interface with Client Team in relation to Architectural activities on site.
- Coordinate with QA and HSE to monitor compliance by the Contractors with management plans
- Carry out constructability review during the Design and Modification stages.
- Review the Design Consultant(s)’ submittals on time and forward comments to the Design Manager.
- Coordinate with PM’s Document Controller and PM QA/QC Manager to ensure that all Documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.
- Review any alternative to the Design concept submitted by the Design Consultant(s), and prepare and submit a report including a recommendation to the Engineering Manager highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
- Review the materials proposed by the Design Consultant(s) and propose alternatives to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review the change requests /variations submitted by the Design Consultant(s).
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
