Senior Road Safety Engineer shall be responsible for preparing, reviewing and approving traffic management plans and traffic diversions including designs, details and working drawings.
Perform road safety audits and follow up on corrective actions and closures.
To ensure compliance with PWA’s objectives, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
Lead, manage, guide and motivate team members to deliver ROMD objectives, ensure they work safely and comply with all company policies, procedures and regulations and provide technical expertise and knowledge when required.
Interface with company representatives and government authorities to address traffic and transportation safety improvements in the Eastern Province.
Ensures, in accordance with PWA guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing.
Coordinate the compliance of the Project Non-Conformance and conduct Incident Investigation.
To act as a technical lead to various traffic safety engineering related work tasks. To oversee work being carried out by contractors.
To support and guide work being undertaken by other members in the team.
To review and assist in developing scope-of-works for the HOM/PWA projects/studies (e.g., Road Safety audit, Traffic Impact study, Temporary Traffic Management, etc.) to support Qatar Safety Council.
To provide technical support to various internal & external entities to improve traffic mobility and traffic safety.
To review and provide initial inputs on design, specifications of existing/proposed roadway schemes within PWA and from the contractors, utilizing applicable industry standards and guidelines.
Assists the Contracts, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Contractors in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
Conduct review of available documents such as HSE Plan, RA/MS, Emergency Preparedness Plans etc.
Lead investigations of serious incidents on any ROMD site which involves fatality or large-scale emergency evacuation and provide report and recommendations within agreed timescales.
Provide and agree annual plans and budgets for successful implementation of Qatar Safety Council Program and manage delivery against target.
Ensure implementation of latest version of Work Zone Traffic Management Guide (WZTMG).
Liaise with the Quality, Safety and Environment Department to ensure alignment of systems and working practices.
