Job Purpose-Responsible to help Slickline Supervisor deliver high quality services to our clients. This position involves working closely with various teams to ensure that slickline operations, including mechanic slickline and measurement operations, are conducted safely and efficiently. Crew Chiefs are responsible for a safe and efficient wellsite operation by performing their duties under direction of the SL supervisor. He is directly responsible for managing crew members and field equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of the equipment and techniques used in slickline operations, as well as the ability to work in challenging environments.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipLead and supervise all slickline field operations, ensuring adherence to job programs, company policies, and client requirements.Prepare slickline tools, pressure control equipment, and units before mobilization to site.Conduct pre-job safety meetings, job hazard analysis (JHA), and toolbox talks with the crew.Operate and oversee slickline units, pressure control equipment, and associated tools during well intervention activities.Perform mechanical, electrical, and pressure testing of slickline and digital slickline equipment before each job.Collaborate with SL Supervisor to interpret well schematics and plan/execute downhole runs accurately.Assemble/disassemble slickline downhole tools based on job requirements.Oversee loading, rigging, and transportation of slickline equipment.Communicate with the Slickline Supervisor and client representative regarding job progress and concerns.Ensure accurate completion of documentation (tool run sheets, daily reports, service tickets).Assist in troubleshooting downhole issues and recommend corrective actions.Ensure compliance with company and KOC safety and operational standards.Assist in post-job maintenance checks of tools and equipment (FIT 1).Participate in inspection, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment.Be available 24/7 for operational requirements, emergencies, or critical wellsite activities.Perform other assigned tasks.People ManagementWork collaboratively to ensure smooth operations.Take responsibility for own training and development.Supervise and mentor Slickline Operators.Assign tasks and ensure adherence to procedures.Provide on-the-job training to junior crew members.Safety and CompliancePromote a strong safety culture and participate in HSEQ activities.Drive and transport equipment safely (if licensed) and ensure journey management.Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.Follow company HSE policies and procedures.Support efforts to minimize HSE&Q risks.Conduct audits for unsafe acts and hazardous conditions.Improve safety and efficiency of maintenance procedures.Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.Stop unsafe work and enforce safety compliance.Service Quality & ReportingEnsure high service quality and adherence to best practices.Maintain and update unit logbooks.Report equipment issues, incidents, and near misses promptly.Equipment and Tools ManagementEnsure all slickline units, PCE, and tools are inspected, certified, and maintained.Manage equipment readiness, maintenance planning, and inventory.Perform maintenance and function tests before operations.Ensure wire testing as per SOP.Support troubleshooting to minimize non-productive time (NPT).Housekeeping & Worksite ManagementMaintain cleanliness in units, vehicles, tool cabins, and wellsite areas.Organize tools, spares, and consumables for easy access.Keep work areas free from hazards and obstructions.Ensure proper wire spooling and line routing during operations.Job RequirementsEducational Qualification and ExperiencePreferred: High School or Diploma with 2+ years as Slickline Crew Chief or 6+ years of slickline experienceMinimum Experience (Engineering/Technical disciplines – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or equivalent):University with minimum 2 years’ experienceDiploma (minimum 2 years) with minimum 4 years’ experienceSecondary with minimum 6 years’ experienceIntermediate with minimum 8 years’ experienceValid Light Driving License preferredHeavy Driving License preferredBehavioural & Technical CompetenciesPositive attitude towards health, safety, and the environmentStrong mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilitiesSound knowledge of slickline tools (fishing, shifting, running/pulling, measuring tools)Strong understanding of wellhead equipment, pressure control systems, and safety proceduresEffective communication skills for reporting and teamworkBasic computer skills for documentation and reportingAbility to respond quickly to emergency situationsWillingness to work in remote locations and under time constraintsPhysically fit to handle tools, climbing, and long operational hoursLanguage SkillsBasic English (reading, writing, and speaking)Arabic is an advantage
