Roles & Responsibilities
Will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects while efficiently considering the project time, cost, productivity, and quality requirements of the contract.
Will be responsible for supporting the Construction Manager and Project Manager, coordinating engineering activities, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Will be responsible in assigning and distributing the available resources, materials, subcontractors, and equipment on the project.
Project Planning and Coordination
Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Determine the project approach, including milestones, deliverables, and scope. o Assists in the preparation of project proposals and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assists in the introduction / applying new methods of construction and machinery used to improve the construction process. o Ensures construction work of assigned project is executed within target time frames agreed with the Project Manager/Construction Manager and budgeted cost.
Assists with the preparation of construction schedule, manpower histogram, submittal log, drawing log and any changes thereof, in coordination with construction staff and Planning & Cost Control Units for initial project planning.
Assists with the preparation of two-week look ahead schedules for project implementation.
Attends weekly meetings with the Project Manager/Construction Manager and Site Engineer(s) for look-ahead plan.
Interface/Interacts with consultants/supervisors on site-related matters and ensures good relationship with them.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions.
Promotes a culture of logistic planning and productivity measurement.
Responsible for generating, securing, or otherwise confirming all information needed to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis.
Responsible for taking corrective and prventive measures to resolve the issues raised from HSE inspection or management and as stipulated in company IMS policy, IMS objectives and government legal legislation.
Review the Variations/Change Orders/Time extensions with the Project Manager/Construction manager to give feedback about the impact on the project.
Oversight resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project objectives and timelines.
Determine project resources, including funding, people and equipment.
Determine how to allocate/reallocate project resources throughout the project.
Promotes a culture of minimizing material wastage and enhances labor/equipment usage.
Optimizes manpower productivity, equipment, and materials allocation and ensures no materials are wasted on assigned parts of the site.
Assign responsibilities on-site staff as per directions of the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
Supervises staff and non-staff attendance and productivity. o Interfaces/coordinates with sub-contractors to ensure compliance of project implementation with construction schedule.
Interfaces / follows up with suppliers to verify materials received.
Issues material requisition forms in coordination with Project Manager/Construction Manager.
Oversees purchase and delivery of required materials and inflow/outflow of site store materials in coordination with the Procurement Department.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to Site Engineers and foremen as per directions of the Project Manager/Site Construction Manager.
Assists in training and development of personnel in the construction function.
Assists in the preparation of the project close out reports.
Engineering and Design Support
Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure alignment with design requirements and standards
Coordinates with Project Manager or Site construction Manager on preparation of all project submittals and drawings.
Coordinates with the Project Manager against any shop drawings clashes.
Ensures placement of Company logo on site panels.
Work closely with architects, designers, and subcontractors to address design changes, modifications, and clarifications.
Provide technical expertise in resolving engineering and construction-related challenges, promoting efficient solutions. Conduct inspections to assess construction progress and adherence to design specifications
Quality Control and Quality Assurance
Responsible for supervising project execution complying with all applicable Quality, Environmental, Occupational health and safety procedures.
Implement and enforce quality control processes to uphold the highest standards of construction quality.
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards.
Issues inspection Request to the QA/QC team to inspect the activities.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address non-conformities and implement timely corrective actions. Implements the safety requirements in coordination with the Safety Officer.
Maintain detailed records of quality-related issues and resolutions to track and report progress
Communication and Stakeholder Management
Serve as a point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and relevant regulatory authorities.
Organize and facilitate project meetings, providing clear and concise updates on project status, milestones, and potential issues.
Responsible for performing and managing all required activities to accomplish site work, including documentation.
Manage project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and submittals, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance client satisfaction and ensure the overall success of the construction projects.
Identify and communicate directly with all project stakeholders as the project manager sees fit.
Determine which recommendations to implement if the project stakeholders do not provide any required feedback within three business days of it being requested
Technical Attributes
Advanced computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management procedures and practices.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Prolog, Primavera)
Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials used in the building trades.
Proven knowledge of construction regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Knowledge of basic principles of program finances and budgeting.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
Master's degree preferred
Twelve (12) years or above overall experience as a Site Engineer in a leading construction company
Proven experience in multiple components of organizational finance and operations, such as budget preparation, fiscal management, financial controls, workforce management, information technology, contract administration, facilities administration, and/or materials management.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, situational negotiation, and conflict management skill.
Ability to supervise and lead assigned staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and work demands.
Excellent team player with strong client and results orientation
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Ability to work long hours during urgent work situation.
