Roles & Responsibilities
Role in this level have prime responsibility for developing, gaining approval for, and implementing operational plans and budgets. The role holder heavily oriented towards operational problem solving through the application of analytical and innovative problem solving and have a major responsibility in providing technical and commercial advice in support of the procurement of maintenance needs.
The role holder is also having responsibility for planning, prioritizing, executing, and monitoring of Projects in an efficient and systematic manner and according to good engineering practices and to the company’s goals and objectives. The role holder compiles and provides input to the periodic reports within their area of work. The role holder assists their superiors in cost control. The role holder must also ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO’s Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee the maintenance activities of the company’s housing complex and other properties.
Review inputs for development of group operating budget ensuring adequate provision has been made for the funding of all anticipated activities. Monitor performance against approved levels to ensure effective cost control.
Prepare and manage operational budget, including cost estimation, tracking expenses and handling variations in scope.
Develop and implement plans for periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities that ensure continuing and optimum production reliability and preservation of asset value.
Analyze, determine root-cause, and recommend remedial solutions for problems referred from line maintenance teams.
Plan, prioritize, execute, and monitor projects by conducting systematic and thorough engineering work in a cost-efficient manner.
Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to superiors and management.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, permits, and reports.
Follow valid standards, technical requirements, and good engineering practices to ensure that projects are executed in line with agreed specifications.
Plan work activities, allocate resources and lead various project teams to ensure project activities are achieved within the set time schedules, specification and cost.
Develop; gain approval for and implement internal procedures and processes in order to insure effective and efficient workflows.
Provide specification for the procurement of spares, consumables, equipment, and services. Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of bids and recommend preferred suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective purchases.
Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years direct, relevant, and proven experience in a similar role, preferably in construction, property & building management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and manage team.
