To perform the professional duties of a specialist pathologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended by the credential committee.
Organizing the work of the department of pathology.
Training of the Laboratory technicians to improve their performance and maintain professional standards of the laboratory.
Performing and maintain the quality control procedures required as per the standards of the JCIA requirements.
Analysis, interpretation and reporting of the laboratory tests in accordance with professional standards and guidelines of the health regulatory authorities such as MOH.
Implementation of Laboratory safety protocols to provide a safe work environment for all the laboratory staff as well as for the patients.
Providing 24 hours services of the laboratory and blood transfusion facility for emergency patients in the hospital.
Liaising with health regulatory authorities such as MOH ministry blood transfusion services, and reference laboratories.
Participating in in-house CME programmes as well as CME programmes in other hospitals for Continued Professional Development to maintain the professional standards required for the practice of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Works closely with other concerned committees in developing policies and procedures to promote quality healthcare in the hospital.
Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature.
Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
