Job Summary:
Inspect containers in accordance with customer ‘container inspection and repair criteria’ to determine if containers are serviceable or damaged.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Inspect all types of shipping containers as per the clients specified criteria (IICL, Cargo worthy, Wind and water tight etc)
2. Generate estimates for all inbound containers supported by photo evidence.
3. Grade the container as per the condition of the interior i.e. suitable to load food, general cargo, scrap condition etc
4. Re-inspect containers in preparation to issue a CSC certification or to update the ACEP sticker.
5. Carry out regular post repair inspections to ensure container repairs are carried out as per customer’s criteria. Ensure correct repair methods and materials are used.
6. Communicate with the Operator to ensure constant traffic flow.
7. Carry out regular site walks to ensure all containers are stacked correctly and safely.
8. Ensure high quality standards are maintained.
9. Perform other duties outlined by your line manager
10. Always follow and work to DP World’s policies, procedures and safety guidelines
Job Content:
The job holder will be required to Inspect containers in accordance with customer ‘container inspection and repair criteria’ to determine if containers are serviceable or damaged.
He/she will also be required to implement and comply with Environment , Health ,Safety and Security policies and procedures.
Ensure commitments and compliance to Information Security Policies in terms of implementation and monitoring of Information Security Management system in your department in line with the Information Security Regulation (ISR) policy.
Education & Certification:
Diploma with IICL certificate
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as Container Inspector.
