The Deputy General Manager – Projects (Design Development) will lead and manage the complete pre-tender lifecycle of healthcare capital projects, from initial project inception through concept planning, schematic design, detailed multidisciplinary design development, authority approvals, value engineering, and final tender package compilation.
The role will oversee design development for:
Hospitals (greenfield / brownfield / expansion / refurbishment)
Medical Centers / Clinics (new / renovation / retrofit)
Day Surgery Centers / Specialty Centers
Pharmacies / Retail Healthcare Formats
Corporate Healthcare Facilities / Diagnostic Centers
Support Infrastructure / Ancillary Healthcare Buildings
The position will ensure that projects are developed in line with clinical operational requirements, statutory regulations, healthcare design standards, commercial feasibility, and project delivery readiness.
Lead and manage end-to-end planning and design development of healthcare capital projects from initial concept through tender readiness, including feasibility assessments, capacity planning for beds, clinics, diagnostics, and support services, space programming, functional adjacency planning, patient flow optimization, benchmarking against healthcare best practices, and support for CAPEX planning.
Oversee healthcare planning and concept development by facilitating clinical planning workshops, conducting departmental programming, preparing concept floor plans and stacking studies, developing circulation strategies, segregating public, staff, and service flows, establishing infection control zoning, planning for future expansion, and integrating medical equipment planning requirements.
Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across architecture, interior design, structural engineering, and MEP systems to ensure fully integrated, efficient, and compliant design solutions aligned with project objectives.
Manage statutory, regulatory, landlord, and developer approvals while ensuring full compliance with applicable standards and guidelines, including FGI, HTM, HBN, NFPA, ASHRAE, local building codes, infection prevention and control standards, sustainability frameworks, and all relevant authority requirements.
Lead the preparation and final compilation of tender documentation, including IFC design packages, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), design narratives, employer’s requirements, and tender drawings to ensure completeness, accuracy, and readiness for procurement.
Drive effective stakeholder management by aligning project objectives, timelines, approvals, and deliverables across internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders to support seamless project execution and timely decision-making.
