Job Objectives:-
Assign mason related jobs to the workers in order to meet set milestones and to ensure timely delivery of projects meeting Quality and HSE objectives.
Day- to-day operations:-
- Direct supervision of masons/flooring related works on board ships and workshop, including but not limited to various types of flooring works , underlayment ,epoxy floor, tiling, carpet, wooden/parquet flooring, vinyl floors, checker plates etc
- Execute on board various types of flooring jobs with/without underlayment which includes in architectural finishing works and workshop preparation job.
- Carryout site survey / site measurement for repair/ installation of flooring works on-board and provide the details to the concerned.
- Read and understand work instruction and drawings/ lay-outs for execution/installation.
- Liaise with other discipline Foremen / Supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
- Assist Sr. Foremen/ Supervisors in planning activities and ensure that all the resource and manpower planning is conducted to meet project requirements.
- Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
- Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards.
- Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSE and Quality concerns.
- Provide personnel appraisal and training requirement, motivate and develop subordinates.
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
Technical competencies:-
- Must be a good all-around masons related works knowledge and experience in marine flooring related works.
- Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
- Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, materials and machines.
- Select and use appropriate measuring / testing devices.
- Knowledge of appropriate engineering principles, techniques and procedures.
