We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented IT Technician to carry out physical installation, configuration, and support of IT and AV equipment at client sites. The role involves fieldwork and includes setting up network infrastructure, security systems, access controls, video conferencing solutions, and other hardware installations. The ideal candidate should have strong practical skills in structured cabling, equipment mounting, basic configuration, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:Equipment Installation & Setup
- Install and configure Wi-Fi routers, access points, and wireless networks.
- Mount, wire, and configure CCTV cameras and security surveillance systems.
- Set up sound systems, including speakers, amplifiers, mixers, and PA systems.
- Perform rack mounting, wiring, and basic setup of servers and network appliances.
- Install access control systems, including biometric devices, card readers, and electronic locks.
- Carry out structured data cabling, including pulling, crimping, and terminating CAT6, CAT7, and fiber cables.
- Set up and configure video conferencing equipment, including cameras, displays, and conferencing units.
Site Preparation & Field Work
- Conduct on-site assessments and assist with layout planning for device placement and cabling paths.
- Ensure all installations are secure, organized, and meet safety and compliance standards.
- Label and document cabling, ports, and devices as per project documentation standards.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Perform basic diagnostics and resolve installation or hardware issues on-site.
- Assist in testing and commissioning installed systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Coordinate with the technical team for advanced configuration or escalation.
Maintenance & Follow-up
- Perform routine maintenance and health checks on installed systems.
- Respond to client service requests related to installed infrastructure.
