We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of our restaurant operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Cash & Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile daily cash sales and receipts with POS system data.
- Prepare daily bank deposit summaries and ensure accurate recording of all bank transactions.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in cash and bank balances.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper authorization and coding.
- Prepare and process payments to suppliers in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and reconcile vendor statements.
- Accounts Receivable (if applicable):
- Assist with invoicing and tracking of any corporate or catering receivables.
- Follow up on outstanding payments as needed.
- Payroll Support:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly payroll, including data entry and verification.
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and regulations related to salaries and benefits.
- General Ledger Entries:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
- Financial Reporting Assistance:
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including sales reports, expense reports, and profit & loss statements.
- Support the senior accounting staff in preparing management reports.
- Inventory Management Support:
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliation of food, beverage, and sweet shop inventory.
- Help track inventory costs and discrepancies.
- Petty Cash Management:
- Manage and reconcile petty cash disbursements and reimbursements.
- Documentation and Filing:
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both physical and digital.
- Ensure proper filing of invoices, receipts, bank statements, and other financial documents.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the management or senior accountant.
