Title: Competent Lab Technician for Barite / Bentonite and Upstream Oil and Gas Minerals and chemicals

Job Purpose:  

• Fully Competent to Lab test Barite / Bentonite and Other Oil and gas minerals and chemicals in Upstream in accordance with API
• API Certified Lab Tech
• To setup Remote Offices for OGT business covering operational business needs
• Top level management reporting using best industry practices; on regular and as on required basis
• The scope covers three important dimensions: Logistics, Operation & QA/QC; in all phases of projects.
• Prepare & Manage Corporate / Projects related Quality / Operations & HSE Plan depending on phase of project starting from planning, bidding, procuring, deliveries, commissioning and acceptance.
• Project Phases go from first understanding the requirement, benchmarking, to feasibility then planning, after the execution to operations and completion.
• This role responsibility is to ensure end-to-end successful operation aligned with best industry practices of QA/QC & HSE

Principal Responsibilities:

Essential functions of the job include:

(OPERATIONS)

• Maintain safe work environment from planning to completion by adapting HSE practices in all operations
• Strategically develop regional existence according to given plan manage logistics, labs, transportation and customer support services
• Adhere to shipping/receiving and regulatory-compliance procedures
• Comply with laws, regulations and standards
• Complete documentation such as pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders using computer-based technology
• Complete daily shipping and receiving logs
• Dispatch freight for delivery and arrange for pickups
• Record shipment data such as weight, charges and damages
• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue shipping instructions and delivery of materials
• Rectify problems such as damages, shortages and non-conformance to specifications
• Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping/receiving errors
• Assist with training of new employees
• Complete safety reports in relation to health and safety issues
• targets
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
• Comply with laws, regulations and API /ISO requirements

(LOGISTIC)

• Manage, Plan & coordinate the supply to the demand of customers in timely manner with right specs, quantity & quality
• Provide and ensure good customer service & solving problems pre-occurrence
• Ensure best industry practices in supply chain management
• Ensure that logistics subcontractors adhere to industry standards in dealing with clients,
• Evaluate transportation cost and other expenses and verify that they are not more than the amount charged to clients, to ensure that a positive account balance is left at the end of every transaction
• Keep records of all shipping activities, documenting procedures, guidelines, and changes in procedures for reference purposes

(QA/QC & HSE)

• Maintain QA/QC & HSE framework according to best industry practices not limited to API, QHSE & ISO
• Ensure implementation of the Quality Management System on all products, activities, clients, suppliers and all stakeholders.
• To establish Company Quality Plan including Quality Policy QHSE and continually improve it.
• Demonstrates the achievement of quality objectives and targets
• Establish statistical measurement to define Quality and Performance Quality (KPI’s)
• Ensure that the Contract Quality Scheduled Audits are conducted on a timely schedule relevant to commencement of activities.
• Perform audits of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers both local and overseas to establish Approved Subcontractors/Suppliers List for the project.

• Good relationship with all stakeholders of projects including clients, suppliers, logistics and co-workers team

• Attention to detail: He/she must be mindful of even the little details of an assignment
• Organization skills: The logistics operations manager must be able to plan and organize his/she activities for efficient delivery of goods

• Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience - API Certified for Barite / Bentonite testing
• Bachelor's degree in Technical, Supply chain or QA/QC.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Should be proficient in Arabic and English (speak, read & write), with excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• The ability to work under pressure
• The ability to analyze complex information and produce detailed reports is essential.
• Project Management Capacity.
