Pediatric Emergency Medicine Section Head • King Abdullah Specialist Children Hospital - Jeddah • Jeddah, Saudi Arabia • Posted 21 hours ago Summary Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, the physician is responsible for performing procedural and consultative duties as assigned by the Department Chairman Education/Qualifications Required: • Basic medical degree from recognized institution • Post-qualification certification • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand. • USA: The American Board of Pediatric Emergency Medicine • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -Pediatric Emergency Medicine ) • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register Pediatric Emergency Medicine ) • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP Pediatric Emergency Medicine ) • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above Experience Post-Qualifications: • Minimum Three (3) years experience in leadership position • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES). • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS). L icense: • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence. • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day clinical, educational and administrative activities of the division. • Supervise and manage the division staff including evaluation, feedback and performance monitoring. • Help the Chairman in physicians and staff recruitment and retention of the Division members. • Prepare Division annual report. • Help the Chairman develop and implement strategic development plan for the Division by developing an action plan conforming to the Department vision. • Participate in common Department and institutional functions related to Pediatric Emergency Medicine in person or through Division representative based on the Chairman request. • Complete specific tasks and projects requested by the Chairman in a timely fashion. • Chair a monthly staff meeting of the division. • Encourage and participate in research activities. • Foster mentorship approach for staff especially physicians and help their career development. • Assure multidisciplinary, evidence based, guideline driven clinical care in accordance with the accepted standards of internationally recognized professional bodies. • To supervise and lead the development of operational policies, guideline and audit program. • To advice the division on the implantation of quality assurance and safety of patient care. • To advice the NGHA through the Chairman, regarding the division future need for equipment, facilities and staffing, in order to provide up to date patient care. • Maintain all requirements for a consultant position at the related Division. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
