Job Description (in brief):
· Responsible for direct implementation of all QA/QC activities related to Painting / Coating in the project.
· Knowledge in preparation of QCP AND ITP for 3LPP, 3LPE, 2LFBE field joint coating application for Onshore Pipeline construction Projects.
· Relevant background / Inspection experience in Onshore Pipeline Field Joint Coating application on various coating like 3LPP, 3LPE, 2LFBE, U/G Coating, etc.
· Familiar in Preparation of Material approval requests (MAR) for 3LPP / 3LPE Heat Shrink Sleeves, 2L FBE Coating Materials, Abrasive Materials, Painting Materials based on Client Approved Vendor / Manufacturer list.
· Fully familiar in 3LPP, 3LPE and 2L FBE field joint coating application in accordance with approved procedures and ITP.
· Exposure in Procedure Qualification and Applicator Qualification for 3LPP, 3LPE, 2LFBE field joint coating and Line Pipe Coating application in accordance with SHELL and applicable international standards.
· Familiar in material inspection of 3LPP, 3LPE, 2LFBE, etc. Field joint coating such as Epoxy primer, HSS, Abrasive Materials as per approved MAR.
· Experience / fully familiar with Coating and painting standards such as ASTM, ISO, NACE, SSPC, BS, DIN, etc. used in oil and gas industries. Familiar with SHELL DEP, ADNOC Onshore specifications are an added advantage.
· Familiar in painting / coating inspections like Surface cleanliness, surface roughness / profile measurement, Dust level Test, Salt contamination / level assessment, Holiday Detection Test & Various Adhesion tests like Pull off, Cross hatch test. etc.
· Familiar in inspection of Dry film and Wet Film thickness of Painting / Coating System as per approved ITP inspection interventions and specification requirements.
· Relevant background / Inspection experience in Line pipe coating application related to 3LPP, 3LPE, 2LFBE coatings, etc.
· Knowledge in various laboratory testing like Impact test, Indentation, Peel test, Flexibility test, Hot Water soak, Cathodic Disbondment, Lap shear, Microscopic examination, Adhesion Pull off test, etc.
· Knowledge in preparation of Quality Control Procedures and ITP for Painting / Coating of above ground Piping Works.
· Familiar in material inspection of Painting & Coating Materials for Above Ground and Under Ground Painting as per approved MAR.
· Exposure in Procedure Qualification and Applicator Qualification related to Underground and Above Ground Painting applications in accordance with SHELL and applicable international standards.
· Experience in performing Holiday testing before lowering / backfilling of Pipeline sections.
· Familiar in daily monitoring of weather / climatic condition such as measurement of ambient condition, substrate temperature, dew point temperature, relative humidity, etc. Same shall be carried out prior to start of every day job and monitor each shift atleast five readings per day.
· Knowledge in inspection pertaining to Paint / Coating material storage conditions and monitoring paint mixing, thinning, recoat interval, curing status in accordance with paint manufacturer product data sheet.
· Experience / knowledge in various type of Paint system as per the client specifications and applicable codes and standards.
· Familiar in Above Ground Pipeline / Piping colour coding system in accordance with applicable project specification and Client specifications.
· Responsible to prepare daily Coating / Painting Inspection reports and ensure the compliance with project specification requirements.
· Responsible to complete all quality documentation related to Painting / coating inspections in line with approved ITP requirements.
· Responsible to follow issued RFI and carryout painting / coating inspection i.e. in process and final on timely basis.
