A Roustabout on a drilling rig is an entry-level position responsible for general labor and maintenance tasks to support drilling operations. The job involves physically demanding work in harsh conditions, often on offshore or onshore drilling rigs.

Job Responsibilities:

1. General Maintenance & Housekeeping

Clean and maintain the rig and surrounding work areas.
Paint and rust-proof equipment to prevent corrosion.

1. Equipment Handling & Support

Assist in loading, unloading, and moving heavy equipment and supplies.
Operate lifts, winches, and hoists under supervision.

1. Pipe Handling & Rigging

Assist with assembling, disassembling, and transporting drill pipes and casing.
Connect and secure pipes using hand tools.

1. Safety & Compliance

Follow strict safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in emergency response drills and adhere to environmental regulations.

1. Assisting Other Crew Members

Support drillers, roughnecks, welders, and mechanics in their tasks.
Work under the supervision of the Driller and Toolpusher.

Qualifications & Skills:

• No formal education required, but a high school diploma/GED is preferred.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy loads and work long shifts.
• Basic mechanical skills and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Teamwork and strong communication skills.
