Job Description
The instructor is responsible for teaching all aspects of the Technical Training programs assigned to him (Classroom and Workshop), materials development and managing his program The Instructor is also the assessor for his programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
• Lead the classroom development and on-going maintenance of all training programs, course materials (theoretical and practical), procedures and assessments to satisfy the client and Awarding Body requirements
• Conduct training programs related to Health and Safety
• Assist the senior instructor in selecting and recruiting a suitable team of technicians.
• Ensure that the equipment in the workshops and laboratories are suitable and adequate in number to complement the training and assessment.
• Assist in identifying and sourcing suitable redundant equipment from Operating Companies for training purposes.
• Assist in developing written and performance tests for assessing specialized training programs.
• Present power point presentation to company staff in nonteaching days.
• Deliver Training
• Assess trainee portfolios to the agreed External Verifier and Awarding Body standards
• Assist in the training, development, and certification of trainees as NVQ Assessors.
• Ensure standards of all programs he is responsible for are maintained.
• In coordination with the Senior Instructor, implement a suitable Assessment, Internal Verification and Quality Assurance system to meet Awarding Body requirements and ensure that the quality of the programs is maintained.
• Implement policies and procedures to ensure Quality Control is managed professionally and effectively.
• Develop and manage teaching and assessment schedules.
• Discipline the trainees he is responsible for when required.
• Coach and train technicians where required.
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Be active in suggesting ways of continually improving the training programs.
• Uphold the Institute Quality Policy.
• Any other duties as reasonably required by Institute Management.
• Level of Supervisory Responsibilities: It is not a supervisory position but may be assigned to lead projects.
• Contact/Communication with Others: Extensive oral communications, mostly in instructional in-person settings. Internal communications are mostly with technical and operations staff and include phone, email, reports, or documentation. External contacts are mostly with customer representatives and students. May need to communicate complex, technical, or administrative information.
• Instructors may also be asked to assist in the development and editing of program materials, customer presentations, and similar projects, or perform other duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor, lead or member of the leadership team.
• Physical ability to use office and training equipment such as Fire and Hydrocarbon Simulators.
• Extended exposure to work using computers and staring at monitors.
• May require work hours in excess of eight (8) hours per day or five (5) days per week and occasional work on weekends.
• Travel is required to conduct the training and other technical services, attend own training, or represent the organization as assigned. Travel may /will include travel/commute throughout KSA and international locations.
