We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in a fast-paced manufacturing / Contracting / Steel Fabrication environment. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, Project/Contract based accounting,and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing financials, and the ability to provide valuable insights to improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including direct labor, materials, and overhead costs. Provide cost accounting reports and recommendations for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management and department heads to prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts. Provide variance analysis and recommendations to ensure financial targets are met.
• General Ledger & Journal Entries: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate posting of journal entries and the proper maintenance of accounting records. Reconcile accounts as necessary to ensure financial accuracy.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory levels, ensuring proper valuation and accurate reporting in the financial statements. Work closely with the operations team to track inventory movements and resolve discrepancies.
• Internal Controls: Ensure the implementation and enforcement of financial controls to safeguard company assets. Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
• Tax Compliance: Support tax planning and filing activities, including preparation of VAT, income tax, and other regulatory filings.
• Financial Reporting to Stakeholders: Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, executives, and external stakeholders to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing support for their professional development. Ensure the team follows established accounting practices and timelines.
