Provides patient care related to arthritis and other rheumatic, joint disorders or musculo-skeletal disease, including diagnosis, all major and minor disorders in the field of rheumatology, which are within his/her competence. Provides preventive care of patients according to approved procedures as part of an integrated program of curative and preventive services.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive and diligent Rheumatology care to all assigned patients, which are within incumbent’s competence.
- Performs professional duties at OPD at which out-patient Rheumatologic care is to be rendered to patients.
- Giving rheumatology opinions on inpatients.
- Refers patients to other Specialties like Orthopedic for surgeries.
- Refers patients to other Health care providers for orthopedic aids (splint, brace, cane, etc.) or corrective surgery, Physiotherapy, etc.
- Provides consultation services to physicians and other surgeons and specialists, on in-or out-patient cases if and when required.
- Refers to specialists or consults with them on those cases which are beyond his skill or experience.
- Adheres to the bylaws and rules and regulations of the medical department and assures that work performed is in keeping with the established standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of hospitals.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of all patients.
- Participates in and contributes to in-service activities such as lectures, conferences and rounds.
- Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of Rheumatology.
- Maintains professional quality standards.
- Utilizes and monitors to assure the use supporting services (Nursing, Operations Support, Pathology, Radiology) in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
- Work in all shifts as scheduled by the head of department.
- Monitors clinical and other established indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance.
- Strictly adheres to organization’s regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, EHSMS, DHA, JCI and ISO.
- Supports continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the services.
- Participates and contributes in scheduled i-services training programs like BLS, CNEs, CMEs, in house activities, conferences or other programs as requested.
- Exercise effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates and management.
- Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
- Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
- Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect of them.
- Carries out other duties when requested by the Medical Director.
- EHS responsibilities of the position includesFamiliarize themselves and comply with all EHS and Infection Control policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for their workplace.
Work in accordance with the documented environment, health and safety procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities defined in individual procedures and instructions.
Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems and follow safe working procedures.
