  • Major Functions

    • Oversee Crescent Group’s tax reporting and compliance across all jurisdictions.

    • Develop tax strategies, prepare returns, and advise on tax matters to optimize the Group’s tax position.

    • Manage tax audits for Group entities.

    Essential Functions
    Tax Compliance & Reporting

    • Ensure compliance with UAE and Iraq tax laws, including Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and VAT.

    • Maintain compliance trackers, review programs, and manage tax audits, assessments, and monthly payments.

    • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and legal teams for tax planning and compliance.

    Tax Advisory & Transaction Support

    • Advise on tax implications of business transactions and propose tax-efficient solutions.

    • Support corporate restructuring and provide tax input for bids.

    Policy, Process & Risk Management

    • Review and update tax policies and processes; stay informed of legislative changes.

    • Identify tax risks and implement mitigation strategies; ensure robust internal controls.

    Tax Accounting & Reporting

    • Ensure accurate accounting of current and deferred taxes in ERP systems.

    • Review withholding tax positions monthly and coordinate group tax reporting with authorities and auditors.

    Transfer Pricing & Legal Entity Management

    • Maintain transfer pricing documentation and ensure annual updates.

    • Assist with legal entity consolidation, acquisitions, and restructuring exercises.

    VAT Compliance

    • Review accounting records of VAT-registered entities and ensure timely filing of VAT returns.

    • Respond to VAT authority queries and maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.

    Data Accuracy, Documentation & Confidentiality

    • Identify and rectify data anomalies; maintain organized, retrievable records.

    • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.

    Reporting & Communication

    • Report to Sr. Director of Accounting & Reporting.

    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications.

    • Pursue professional accounting qualifications and recommend improvements to management.
