Roles & Responsibilities
- Experience in design, design coordination, design management, and review of shop drawings for various disciplines.
- Presentable and strong communication skills.
- Technically review and suggest best practices for the design of all product types.
- Study and implement improved efficiencies for design during construction stages.
- Identify engineering grey areas on given project documents and suggest, within a short time course of actions, rectify as necessary.
- Perform redline reviews of all plans during each design stage of the construction works.
- Attend, manage, and take minutes to ensure compliance of design to adhere to the schedule of deliverables, and full coordination between all disciplines.
- Support Procurement and Contracts department.
- Reviews and analyzes design requirements and priorities for the different engineering disciplines.
- Follows up & assists the Project Management during the execution phases to ensure client design requirements are fulfilled.
- Organizes & conducts coordination meetings with all project stakeholders and third-party teams to evaluate the progress of work and ensure alignment or work conducted by each trade, and compliance with requirements and standards.
- Meets with project stakeholders to clarify project design requirements and follow-up approvals.
- Guides and reviews work of shop drawings to ensure progress is within schedule and complies with requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Identifies measures to reduce technical studies costs.
- Develop or collect the various project goals and needs.
- Align lessons learned on the field with goals and needs and adjust to meet cultural requirements as required.
- Attend coordination meetings with stakeholders.
- Monitor the Design and Studies Progress and ensure that the requirements of the Client are clearly communicated to the project stakeholders.
- Provide comments on project documents and ensure compliance with the Client’s objectives and requirements.
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor all coordination including obtaining the Client’s approval of the technical submittals.
- Manage and coordinate dissemination of design information to all relevant parties in a timely manner.
- Manage design deliverables according to project priorities and approved time schedules.
- Establish, develop, and monitor the appropriate procedures to manage all the above activities.
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures in place within Hill International, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor such as, but not limited to the following:
- Manage drawings coordination to ensure that all shop drawings and plans from various disciplines (i.e., Architectural, Structural & MEP.)
- Mediate and resolve conflicts or discrepancies between the different technical disciplines’ requirements and drawings.
- Manage any design changes or revisions and ensure that they are properly communicated and implemented.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to select appropriate materials for the project, balancing cost, quality, and availability.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, ensuring that they meet the project specifications and are delivered on time.
- Lead and organize regular technical meetings involving different project stakeholders to discuss progress, issues, and solutions.
- Quickly address technical challenges that arise during construction stages, proposing viable solutions to keep the project on schedule.
- Implement quality control processes to verify that construction works are aligned with approved drawings and specifications.
- Explore cost-effective alternatives without compromising project quality, aiming to reduce expenses while maintaining functionality.
- Overseas the organization and archiving of all technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and change orders as per the project procedures.
- Mastering engineering software, such as Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Revit, etc.
