Provide Technical Support:Oversee and offer engineering and technical assistance to all electrical/mechanical work teams on-site.Serve as Technical Advisor:Act as the technical expert on-site, offering guidance to subcontractors, skilled workers, and operatives.Review Plans and Drawings:Verify the accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities, ensuring correct calculations.Interpret Drawings and Contract Documents:Analyze construction drawings and review contract documents, standards, and specifications before beginning any work to ensure all details are understood.Coordinate with Other Trades:Supervise the work schedule and collaborate with other trades (such as civil, electrical, and mechanical teams) to ensure smooth execution and avoid any clashes.Ensure Compliance with Standards:Guarantee that all work is carried out in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and applicable standards—whether local, national, or international.Resource Planning:Estimate and allocate resources including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for electrical, mechanical, and related tasks before the work starts.Daily Site Management:Manage day-to-day site activities, supervising and monitoring the labor force and the progress of work.Oversee Quality and Safety:Supervise the implementation of quality control and ensure health and safety standards are maintained on-site.Problem Solving:Resolve any unexpected technical challenges or issues that may arise during the project.Collaboration and Communication:Attend meetings with other departments to keep them informed and hold weekly meetings to review the Site Engineer’s progress and upcoming workload.Document and Learn from Issues:Keep track of any issues encountered on-site to prevent recurrence and support the implementation of a lessons-learned program.Manage Variation Claims:Review and manage any variation claims, particularly focusing on avoiding contractor claims, and coordinate with the design office on the matter.Progress Reporting:Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the Resident Engineer (RE).Client/Contractor Meetings:Attend weekly meetings with the client and main contractor to provide updates and discuss progress.Inspect and Approve Installations:Inspect installations to ensure they comply with local authority regulations and approve them accordingly.Contract Document Review:Take responsibility for reviewing and approving various contract documents submitted by contractors.Review Method Statements and Material Proposals:Review installation method statements and assess electrical/mechanical service material proposals to ensure they meet technical performance requirements. Provide feedback to the Project Manager on the suitability of these proposals.Final Inspection and Defects List:Conduct the final project snagging process and compile a list of defects for the contractor to address.Project Handover:Participate in the project handover meetings with the contractor and client to ensure a smooth transition and completion of the project
