Job Title: Cost ControllerDepartment: FinanceReports to: FP&A Manager (dotted line to Finance Controller & Reporting Manager)Location: HQJob Type: Full-timeJob Purpose:The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling project and operational expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets and financial targets. The role supports effective cost tracking, analysis, and reporting to assist in financial decision-making and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:- Assist in developing and maintaining budgets for projects and operations.- Track actual costs against budgeted amounts and report on variances.- Maintain up-to-date cost records and ensure proper allocation of expenses.- Support monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis.- Coordinate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to validate cost data.- Review invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for accuracy and compliance.- Assist in the preparation of customer invoices- Assist with internal audits and cost reviews.- Monitor and report on cost performance indicators (KPIs).- Prepare ad-hoc cost reports and dashboards for management as required.- Support the implementation of cost control procedures and systems.Qualifications and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.- 7+ years of experience in a cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis role.- Familiarity with project accounting and cost control practices.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle is a must) is preferred.- Understanding of financial principles and cost reporting standards.Key Competencies:- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy- Good analytical and organizational skills- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams- Time management and ability to meet deadlines- Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindsetNote: We are looking for candidates with drilling rig industry experience managing 22 fleets (offshore rigs, land rigs, accommodation jack-up).
