Position Title: Senior LawyerDivision: Legal / Head OfficeLocation: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaEmployment Type: Full Time________________________________________POSITION OVERVIEWLynx Contracting Co. is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Lawyer with excellent contractual expertise and a strong background in the construction industry to join our Head Office in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice, managing contract negotiations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and representing the company in legal matters related to construction projects and corporate operations.________________________________________KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management on contractual, regulatory, and corporate legal matters related to construction projects and business operations.Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize construction contracts including FIDIC contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, procurement agreements, joint venture agreements, and vendor contracts.Advise on contractual terms, conditions, obligations, risks, and dispute resolution mechanisms to protect the company's legal and commercial interests.Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian laws, labor laws, construction regulations, commercial laws, and company law in all legal documents and business transactions.Manage and resolve contractual disputes, claims, variations, delays, and commercial disagreements with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.Represent the company in arbitration, mediation, litigation, and dispute resolution proceedings before Saudi courts, arbitration tribunals, and dispute boards.Conduct legal due diligence for new projects, joint ventures, partnerships, and corporate transactions.Advise on employment law matters including employment contracts, labor disputes, termination procedures, and compliance with Ministry of Labor regulations.Review and advise on insurance policies, bonds, guarantees, letters of credit, and risk management strategies for construction projects.Monitor changes in Saudi Arabian laws and regulations affecting the construction industry and ensure company policies and contracts are updated accordingly.Liaise with external legal counsel, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors on behalf of the company.Prepare legal opinions, risk assessments, legal memoranda, and compliance reports for senior management and board of directors.Manage intellectual property matters, corporate governance, and company secretarial functions as required.Support procurement and commercial teams in tender preparation, contract administration, and claims management.Provide legal training and guidance to project managers, engineers, and commercial teams on contractual obligations and legal risks.________________________________________QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.Master's Degree in Law (LLM) or specialization in Commercial Law, Contract Law, or Construction Law is highly preferred.Experience:Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience as a lawyer with strong focus on construction contracts and construction industry legal matters.Proven experience working in or advising construction companies, engineering firms, or infrastructure development companies.Extensive hands-on experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating FIDIC contracts and construction-related agreements.Strong background in managing construction disputes, arbitration, and litigation.Certifications (Preferred):Licensed to practice law in Saudi Arabia or eligible for Saudi Bar Association membership.FIDIC contracts certification or training.Arbitration certification (e.g., ICC, LCIA, or regional arbitration bodies).Language Requirements:Full professional proficiency in English is mandatory.Full professional proficiency in Arabic is mandatory.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages are essential for contract drafting, negotiation, and legal representation.Technical Skills:Expert knowledge of FIDIC contracts (Red Book, Yellow Book, Silver Book) and construction contract management.Strong understanding of Saudi Arabian laws including Commercial Law, Labor Law, Company Law, and construction-related regulations.Solid knowledge of arbitration, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.Experience with contract administration, claims management, and variation order analysis.Proficiency in legal research, legal drafting, and contract interpretation.Familiarity with construction project delivery methods, procurement processes, and risk allocation principles.Personal Attributes:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks.
