· Review contract drawings and specifications for the Specific Project assigned to him by the Engineering Manager.· Notify the Engineering Manager in case of deviation from the Contract / Offer at any stage of design calculation.· Prepare the design plan in case design calculating is part of our Contract.· Delegate work to the Engineers in his section.· Control the quality of the structure design calculation made in his Section to ensure that the designed elements are acceptable from a technical, economical, safety and time wise point of view.· Identify problem areas; propose design modification or improvement; and subsequently approve the mechanical design.· Support manufacturing, and validate and prove the mechanical design by conducting mechanical tests on the product hardware according to the mechanical loading environment.· Generate analysis reports and create mechanical test plans and reports· Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects including constructability requirements and reviews.· Provide technical direction for specific tasks and assigns work to subordinate engineers and designers.· Evaluate the function of the structural system and develops, designs, or select the required structures to achieve the function.· Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of structural systems.· Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.· When required due to a specific structural issue, direct activities to ensure that construction, installation, and testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.· Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer.· Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering task.· Estimate construction cost.· Prepare design submittals.
