MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Perform auto electrical duties under instruction from workshop supervisor by executing planned maintenance to all plant and equipment to the standards required by the Company.

• Ensures proper maintenance of low voltage electrical equipment with adherence to safety norms and regulations.
• Diagnoses faults on equipment and ascertain cause of defects, determine repair methods and spare part requirements for efficient and permanent repairs.
• Traces circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate to the defective component level.
• Reads and comprehends technical manuals, schematic diagrams, troubleshooting guides, manufactures’ specifications, warranties and parts catalogues.
• Identifies and selects correct spare parts, by visual recognition or from manuals and controls their use.
• Proactive monitoring of electronic / electrical equipment.
• Resets fault codes and re-programmes transmission control units and other electronic control units.
• Performs other duties as required.
