Job Summary
Construction Support Cost Engineer with extensive experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree(or international equivalent) and a minimum of 7 years of experience in cost management and support for large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
· Cost Control: Monitor and track construction costs against the project budget, identify variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
· Forecasting: Develop cost forecasts for the duration of the project, adjusting for changes in scope, schedule, and material costs.
· Project Support: Provide ongoing cost engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and design to construction and completion.
· Contract Management: Review contractor invoices and manage the progress payment process, ensuring that work completed matches the agreed-upon schedule and costs.
· Reporting: Generate cost reports, including detailed analysis of project expenditures and forecasts, to assist in decision-making for management and clients.
· Change Orders: Assess and evaluate cost implications of change orders, design modifications, or unforeseen conditions during construction.
· Risk Management: Identify cost risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
· Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
· Compliance: Ensure that all cost management processes comply with industry standards and project-specific requirements.
