Roles & Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems of the construction project, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Will be responsible to design high voltage equipment such as wiring systems, lighting systems and generators.
- Will be responsible to survey the site and manage the design and construction of electrical systems so that they comply with the necessary codes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical System Planning and Analysis
- Lead and collaborate with the project team in developing electrical system designs that adhere to local building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems.
- Evaluate and select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials for the project.
- Work closely with the MEP Manager and other project stakeholders to develop electrical project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other trades to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project design.
- Oversee the procurement of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
Installation and Resource Oversee
- Supervise the installation and construction of electrical systems on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality control. o Read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures o Supervises crew in the installations of electrical equipment, fixtures and fittings, lighting, heating and ventilation (and air conditioning), elevators, power outlets, Security and fire detection and alarm systems, etc. related to all kind of buildings.
- Ensure installations are in accordance with specifications, electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the proper functioning of electrical systems.
- Oversee the commissioning and startup of electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise. Optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.
- Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools, and supervise work crews to best utilize manpower and materials.
Quality Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure that all electrical installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, schematics, as-built records, and project reports.
- Keeps records of all work completed and completion of “Action Lists”.
- Prepare and submit permit applications and regulatory documentation as required.
- Ensure compliance with all Company QA/QC and safety procedures / regulations and strictly enforces them with the workforce under his responsibility.
- Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents. o Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
- Complies with all statutory requirements connected with the implementation of project.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Collaborate effectively with the project team, including architects, contractors, and subcontractors, to resolve electrical-related issues and maintain project progress.
- Commands respect to own workforce, develop excellent working relationships with all other department personnel, and ensure client management.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and technicians.
- Leads and controls Foremen, skilled labor and work crews engaged in all activities concerned with the electrical works aspects of the project. o Identifies, formulates and implements “on‐the‐job” training programs for the workforce under his responsibility. o Give clear instructions in an efficient and effective way to own workforce.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the electrical engineering team.
- Liaises with other discipline to ensure the optimum utilization of available work, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
