Summary
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will play an important role in a joint venture based in Abu Dhabi. The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems design, implementation, and future maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with relevant standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical engineering, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into the broader project scope.
Major duties/responsibilities
· Prepare technical specifications of CAPEX and OPEX projects.
· Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for the joint venture’s onsite operations.
· Responsible for designing electrical systems and instrumentation systems that are safe, reliable, and efficient. This includes designing power distribution systems, control systems, and instrumentation layouts.
· Ensuring that all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations is crucial. In the oil & gas industry, this typically involves adherence to industry standards like API (American Petroleum Institute), NEC (National Electrical Code), and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards.
· Collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors and other engineers, to integrate electrical systems into the overall project design and ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
· Follow up on the engineering approval as well as follows up in the field upon progress and quality.
· Evaluate electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis and coordination studies to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems (including conducting regular inspections and audits)
· Close collaboration with the Construction and QA/QC Manager
· Supports the monthly bill approval (progress) and reporting.
· Creating budgets, technical specifications, bid request packages and price comparisons.
· Analyzing existing processes and participating in project teams to implement improvement projects.
· Providing assistance to Maintenance and Operations on complex problems within the electrical installation.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
