Job DescriptionDesignation: Engineering ManagerDepartment: ProjectsReports to: Projects Director & VP EngineeringOrganization: Oil & GasLocation: Abu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesSummaryThe Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role to establish new and innovative ways of working in a joint venture based in Abu Dhabi. Initially this position will involve supporting in the project set-up in Abu Dhabi.Thereafter, this position involves leading and coordinating the engineering team, managing project deliverables, and ensuring technical excellence across all engineering aspects of the project. The Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering solutions with project objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Aligning with the joint venture partner on key aspects of the system engineering will be critical for the success of the project.Major duties/responsibilities· A hands-on engineering professional having experience in designing and construction within the O&G industry, especially developing of large tank terminals or process units. Coordinating a team of specialized engineers of different disciplines following up on the EPC contractors detail engineering for production and construction.· Supporting the construction Manager as well as coordinating with the QA/QC Manager for activities on site. Collecting and coordinating the comments and findings of various disciplines.· Surveys & inputs for the development of new facilities, preparation of PFDs, floating inquires, technical discussions with contractors, scope finalization, preparation of contract specifications, issue of work order.· Liaising with consultants, contractors and external agencies for determining technical specifications, approvals and obtaining statutory clearances.Monitoring Engineering & Construction of all phases of various project activities Coordinating multi discipline activities, handling contractors / vendors to maintain deadline.· Reviewing / approving of drawings, documents, project review meetings for evaluating progress.· Monitoring projects with respect to Cost, Resource Deployment, Time over-runs, Compliance to HSE & Quality requirements, timely execution of projects.· Mandatory that the candidate has proficiency in the standard MS office applications, as well as exposure to design aspects, Auto Cad or similar and knowledge of MS project.Desired Profile:· Hands-on engineering professional having experience in managing and overseeing engineering and construction experience in a refinery, large marine terminal or process plant. Experience in Tank Farm Projects, Cryogenic Tanks or Ammonia Tanks is an advantage.· Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, practices and methodologies· Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve project goals.· Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.· Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential engineering-related risks.· Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to engineering design, construction and operations as well as HSSE tasks.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions· Mandatory that the candidate has a proficiency in in the standard MS Office applications, as well as exposure to design aspects and knowledge of MS Projects.
