Job Summary:-
The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all environmental aspects of the EPC project to ensure full compliance with ADNOC's environmental standards, UAE environmental laws and regulations, and international best practices. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to ADNOC's HSE policies, standards, and procedures, with a strong focus on their comprehensive environmental guidelines.
- Permitting and Approvals: Prepare and secure all necessary environmental permits, licenses, and approvals from relevant authorities in coordination with ADNOC.
- Environmental Impact Assessment: Participate in and review Environmental Impact Assessment studies, ensuring all potential environmental and social impacts are identified and effective mitigation measures are proposed and implemented.
- Construction Environmental Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and associated procedures.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits of project sites to ensure compliance. This includes monitoring air quality, water quality, noise levels, and waste management practices. Prepare and submit regular environmental performance reports to project management and ADNOC.
- Waste Management: Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive project waste management plan, promoting waste minimization, segregation, and recycling in line with ADNOC's objectives.
- Spill Prevention and Response: Develop and implement a robust spill prevention and response plan, and ensure all personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
- Training and Awareness: Conduct environmental awareness training for all project personnel, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and adherence to ADNOC's 100% HSE culture.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with ADNOC's environmental representatives, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders on all environmental matters.
- Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in the investigation of all environmental incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
