We are excited to announce the opening for the position of Head of Safety & Quality.

This role involves proactively developing and managing our Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality strategies, along with the associated management systems. The person in this position will be responsible for implementing these strategies and systems to foster a safe and improvement-focused organizational culture, while also ensuring compliance with international certification standards and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

· Lead, develop and implement the safety & quality strategies aimed at continuous improvement & operational efficiency and ensuring that a safe and incident/accident-free culture is achieved at all levels. Provide leadership for developing and directing safety & quality initiatives across the organization.

· Monitor and report safety & quality-based metrics that drive functional and business performance improvements. Accountable for the provision of monthly department reports with mitigation plans and recommendations.

· Ensure that safety and quality-related certifications are attained / maintained / renewed efficiently to ensure compliance to relevant internationally recognized standard which are internationally recognized for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organization to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.

· Drive implementation of safety tools and programs and their digitalization for objective analysis of nonconformances; thereby identifying risk to business and initiating corrective/preventive action.

· Lead, direct, coach the safety & quality teams, and create a values-based culture that motivates, empowers, and engages all team members. In addition, direct the teams in establishing a system for assessing compliance to customer requirements based on agreed specifications/SLAs by business.

· Lead the development, management, and oversight of the HSEQ audit program of the company extensive food and food contact material supply chain to assess risk and the standard of food safety and Halal practices of each supplier so that a decision can be made as to the continued safe supply of product to the company and its customers.

· Adequately represent the organization during customer audits, demonstrating due diligence, customer centric culture and commitment to meeting customer needs.

· Develop a company culture focused on continuous improvement through the implementation of management systems and programs that are integrated into operational business activities. Provide oversight in the planning and implementation of programs to:

· Reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and regulatory risk. Define policies and proactively identify specific hazardous conditions to control or eliminate unsafe or health threatening conditions.

· Establish hazard identification, observation and mitigation programs that will allow the operations to implement and monitor a hazard register for all identified hazards and subsequent hazard control plans arising from injuries, accidents, near misses, audits, workplace inspections, safety observations and staff.

· Conduct audits/surveys to measure performance on environment, occupational health & safety, and food safety and take appropriate actions to mitigate against risk to enhance the quality & safety culture. Direct and monitor awareness campaigns to heighten attention and focus on safety & quality performance to achieve excellence.
