Job purpose:
The Investment Manager will lead the evaluation, structuring, and management of investment projects in energy and natural resources. This role focuses on delivering financial and strategic insights to drive value creation through well-structured project finance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in energy and natural resources investments, coupled with strong financial modeling and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the evaluation of investment opportunities in energy and natural resources projects.
• Develop and review detailed financial models, including sensitivity analysis, to support investment decisions.
• Structure project finance deals, including debt and equity arrangements, ensuring optimal funding terms.
• Oversee the preparation and execution of project finance transactions, including due diligence and financial close.
• Collaborate with financial institutions, investors, and development partners to secure project funding.
• Manage financial risk assessments and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
• Monitor global and regional trends in the energy and natural resources sectors to identify opportunities and risks.
• Analyze market conditions, regulatory developments, and industry benchmarks to guide investment strategy.
• Provide regular updates on market dynamics to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including planning, operations, and legal, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including lenders, investors, and government entities.
• Represent the company in investment negotiations and industry forums.
• Track and report on the performance of investment projects, identifying areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports, business cases, and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure alignment of investments with corporate strategy and financial objectives.
Education requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or a related field (MSc, CFA or MBA preferred).
Experience
Based on grade:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in workforce management or a related role, preferably in labor camps or similar environments.
Knowledge and skills
• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Bloomberg, and project management tools.
• In-depth knowledge of the energy and natural resources sectors, including market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong expertise in project finance, investment analysis, and financial modeling.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering sustainable value through investments.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
