PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Bringing outdoor spaces to life, the Landscape Design Manager plays a crucial role in creating and integrating stunning outdoor environments for our real estate projects. This position ensures that landscape features not only complement the overall design but also enhance the aesthetic appeal and value of each development, elevating the desirability and experience of our communities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce or oversee the production of drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information at pre-contract stage.
- Compile tender submissions and secure new work.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the architectural, scientific and technical work performed in the department, service, laboratory or firm.
- Develop and manage the work of others.
- Clear communication, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to contribute to conference calls, meetings and workshops.
- Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.
- Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff, including as a P2C mentor.
- May participate directly in the design, development, and inspection of technical projects or in the theoretical or applied scientific work of the department.
- Working as a Project Manager, project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.
- Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
- Assign, coordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams.
- Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas
- May consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals or present architectural or scientific research reports and findings.
- Oversee mock-ups, materials selection at post contract stage.
