1.)Act as the competent person responsible for all lifting operations, ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and company policies.
2).Prepare and develop comprehensive Lifting Plans, including:
Technical calculations (e.g., load weight, center of gravity, sling angles, crane capacities)
Crane configuration and positioning
Load charts and lifting equipment specifications
Detailed lift drawings (AutoCAD or other software)
3.)Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) tailored to each lifting operation.
4.)Conduct site visits and lift studies to determine suitable lifting methods and equipment.
5.)Coordinate with Crane Operators, Lift Supervisors, Slingers/Signallers, and other personnel.
6.)Ensure technical accuracy and safety of all lifting documentation.
7.)Review and approve subcontractor lift plans and drawings as required.
8.)Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to communicate the lift plan and safety protocols to the team.
9.)Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, including equipment inspections, lift approvals, and incident reports.
10.)Provide technical support and advice on lifting best practices and regulatory compliance.
11.)Support the procurement and inspection of lifting equipment and accessories, ensuring valid certification and suitability.
12.)Continuously monitor lifting operations to ensure compliance with the approved lift plan and halt work in unsafe conditions.
