The MEP Director is responsible for leading the MEP design and implementation process across all development projects. The role involves coordinating with Design and Development and internal teams to ensure that MEP systems are designed and installed to meet the company’s standards for quality, efficiency, sustainability, and compliance.
The MEP Director will oversee the entire lifecycle of MEP components, from initial design through construction, commissioning and handover.
Leadership and Management
o Lead the MEP team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development
opportunities.
o Develop and implement MEP strategies that align with the company’s goals and
objectives.
o Coordinate with other department heads to integrate MEP systems with architectural
and structural designs.
Project Oversight
o Manage the MEP aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
o Review and approve MEP designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and comply with relevant standards and codes.
o Oversee the selection of MEP contractors and vendors, ensuring they meet the company’s Budget, quality and performance standards
Design and Engineering
o Work with Internal and external consultants to develop MEP designs that are efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable. o Ensure that MEP systems are designed to meet the specific needs of each project, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
o Implement the latest technology and best practices in MEP design and construction
Budgeting and Cost Control
o Develop and manage MEP budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within Budget.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
o Monitor and control expenditures, negotiating with suppliers and contractors as needed
Quality Control and Compliance
o Ensure all MEP installations comply with local, state, and U.A.E regulations, as well as industry standards.
o Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to verify that MEP systems meet the company’s standards.
o Oversee the commissioning and testing of MEP systems to ensure they are functioning as intended
Risk Management
o Identify potential risks associated with MEP systems and develop mitigation strategies.
o Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during the installation and operation of MEP systems.
o Manage any issues that arise during construction or post-construction, ensuring they are resolved quickly and effectively
Collaboration and Communication
o Serve as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related matters, both internally and externally.
o Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress and status of MEP components in projects.
Sustainability and Innovation
o Promote sustainable practices in the design and implementation of MEP systems
o Stay current with industry trends and innovations, incorporating new technologies and approaches as appropriate.
o Drive the adoption of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly MEP systems
