The Microsoft M365 Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and maintenance of the Microsoft 365 environment within the organization. This role will involve managing Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services. The M365 Administrator will also be responsible for ensuring system availability, security, and performance, while providing technical support to end-users and collaborating with other IT team members on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration and Support:
- Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related services.
- Perform user account management, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control.
- Monitor the health and performance of the M365 environment, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues related to Microsoft 365 services.
- Configure and manage M365 security features, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), data loss prevention (DLP), and conditional access policies.
Configuration and Optimization:
- Configure and manage M365 services to align with organizational needs and best practices.
- Optimize the M365 environment for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Implement and manage M365 backup and recovery solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Collaboration and Integration:
- Work closely with other IT team members to integrate M365 services with on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Collaborate with the IT Security team to implement and maintain security best practices for M365.
- Assist in the planning and execution of M365 migrations, upgrades, and other related projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation for M365 configurations, processes, and procedures.
Training and Awareness:
- Stay up to date with new M365 features and updates and proactively implement improvements where applicable.
- Participate in the development of user guides, FAQs, and other support materials.
Incident and Problem Management:
- Respond to incidents and problems related to Microsoft 365, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business impact.
- Participate in root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Maintain incident and problem records within the organization's IT service management (ITSM) system.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
