· Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings such as equipment lay out, Cable tray / ladder layout, Cable schedule, Cable routing, Block diagrams Single line drawing and termination etc.
· Understand the principles of basic electricity and basic electrical code requirements.
· Ability to identify, select, and safely operate all electrical tools such as screw drivers, pliers, crimping tool, knives, benders and electrical meters etc.
· Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship, in marine facilities and offshore and onshore structures following blueprints and wiring diagrams.
· Installs conduits, Multi cable transits, Electrical cable trays & ladders, Junction boxes, Circuit breakers and Switch Board Panels as per Electrical drawings.
· Pull and Install power, control and instrument cables through Cable penetrations, conduits, cable tray / ladder and trenches. Dress & band, gland and terminate the cables with proper industry techniques.
· Tests electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits, using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
· Knowledge on specifications and standards of Oil and Gas industry especially explosion proof equipment installation in Hazardous Area.
· Ability to communicate with colleagues and supervisors
