Purpose of the Role

This requirement is to satisfy the production objectives of our Fibre Termination Department. The

Department is tasked with the volume preparation and production of optical fibre-based products to service customer orders and the internal requirements of our other production departments.

• Attend and pass to the required standard an initial training course after appointment to progress.
• Production and packaging of Emtelle products following our standard operating procedures as trained and instructed.
• Fibre optic assembly work as required by order output requirements, Quality Standards and Work Instructions. This will include assembly and termination of connectors and configuration of passive optical components.
• Perform test, measurement and evaluation on fibre optic and related products in compliance with work instructions quality standards and order output requirements.
• Fibre rewinding as required.
• Assemble and configure fibre optic components. This will require the sustained skilled use (after training) of termination equipment, tools & epoxies and in adherence to specified drawing’s, work instructions and quality standards.
• Product builds to meet order output requirements, Quality Standards and Work Instructions
• Checking, counting and packing products that are received, stored and dispatched by the Emtelle. This will include carrying out regular stock checks and ensuring that stock data is up to date and accurate using our MRP system
• Ensuring safe packaging of all customer products
• Pro-actively helping with solutions to improve production
• Liaising with the Production Supervisor regarding any outstanding tasking within production and actively participating in their resolution.
• We operate in an environment where contamination risk needs to be kept to a minimum therefore Operators are required to ensure that the production area and all pertaining to it is kept clean and hazard free
