Job Summary
The Senior ELV Project Engineer will be responsible for leading ELV systems site activities, ensuring the smooth implementation of systems including St. Cable (Active & Passive), FA, AV, GRMS, PA, and security systems. This role involves reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The Senior ELV Project Engineer will also oversee quality assurance processes, conduct inspections, and facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
Job Description
Project Leadership:
* Lead ELV systems site activities, overseeing installation and testing of systems including St. Cable (Active & Passive), FA, AV, GRMS, PA, and security systems.
* Manage subcontractor activity and quality of work in alignment with project QA plan and program.
Documentation and Communication:
* Review all drawings received from the Engineering department, raising internal queries for site implementation issues.
* Evaluate material submittals from vendors, ensuring document quality before submission to the consultant.
* Prepare and submit material, drawings, and method statements, following up with consultants for approvals.
* Maintain a log of all submissions and prepare handover documents.
Procurement and Material Management:
* Coordinate material orders with take-off quantity and follow up on delivery in line with project progress.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with authority guidelines throughout construction for smooth project completion.
Technical Expertise:
* Utilize in-depth knowledge of ELV systems installation and testing, including ST. Cabling, Security, FA, Communications, etc.
* Apply expertise in ELV software and tools to facilitate project tasks.
* Analyze and resolve site technical issues with an analytical mindset under pressure.
Code Adherence and Standards:
* Ensure familiarity and compliance with relevant ELV codes and authority standards (SIRA, DCD, Etisalat, DU).
Team Leadership and Management:
* Demonstrate proven team leader capabilities, behaviors, and values.
* Coordinate resources and activities to ensure timely project delivery.
Project Planning and Execution:
* Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
* Oversee the implementation of ELV systems within the project, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
* Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors, negotiating contracts and agreements for ELV services and supplies.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
* Conduct quality inspections and tests to verify adherence to design and project requirements.
* Implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, clients, and project team members.
* Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project status, issues, and resolutions, fostering effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
Risk Management and Contingency Planning:
* Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
* Implement corrective actions to ensure project goals are met.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
* Prepare presentations and reports for project stakeholders and management.
Education & Qualification
Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master?s degree preferred.
Relevant Experience
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in ELV systems installation and project management.
* Proven experience in leading ELV systems site activities, including St. Cable (Active & Passive), FA, AV, GRMS, PA, and security systems.
* Previous experience in post-contract project phases is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractor activities and ensuring quality of work.
