Role Overview

Lead and deliver all civil/structural scopes for a rooftop or ground-mount solar PV project—from survey and design coordination to execution, QA/QC, and handover—while ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi authorities and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Readiness & Surveys: Topographic survey coordination, geotechnical inputs, pull-out tests (for piles), roof condition assessment, and access/cranage planning.
• Design & Drawings: Review IFC drawings; develop/coordinate civil shop drawings (foundations, plinths, inverter/transformer pads, fence/roads, drainage, cable trenches/duct banks, equipment rooms). Prepare as-builts.
• Structural Compliance (Rooftop): Check structural capacity and load paths for racking/ballast; coordinate with the structural consultant for wind loads (ASCE 7/UAE practice) and roof waterproofing details.
• Ground-Mount Works: Pile driving/rammed posts or concrete foundations; roads, drainage, cable trenching/backfilling, and perimeter fencing/lighting.
• Permits/NOCs: Interface with Abu Dhabi Municipality, DoE/ADDC, utility, and client for civil-related permits, barricading, and inspections.
• Execution & Supervision: Daily supervision of subcontractors, method statements, ITPs, WIR/MIR, compaction tests (FDT), concrete QA (slump/cube tests), rebar inspection, and snag/defect clearance.
• Cable Routing: Civil coordination for cable routes, crossings, markers, and protection slabs; ensure separation distances and warning tapes.
• Quality & Documentation: Maintain RFI logs, redlines, daily reports, QC checklists, and handover dossiers.
• HSE Coordination: Enforce safe excavation, lifting, work-at-height (WAH), scaffold use, and traffic plans with the HSE team.
• Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with electrical team, suppliers, client’s engineer, and authorities to keep schedule/cost on track.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; UAE Society of Engineers registration preferred.
• 5–8 years total experience; 2+ years on solar PV (rooftop and/or utility-scale) in the GCC.
• Strong AutoCAD; Civil 3D/Revit is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of concrete works, piling, waterproofing, drainage, and QA/QC testing.
• Familiar with Abu Dhabi authority processes (ADM, DoE/ADDC).
• Excellent coordination/reporting; valid UAE driving license preferred.

• Schedule adherence for civil milestones.
• First-time pass rate of WIR/MIR.
• RFI closure time and rework/NCR rate.
• Cost variance and punch-list closure time.
• Documentation completeness and quality.
