HSE Engineer (Solar Project) — Abu DhabiHSE Engineer (Solar Project) — Abu Dhabi Location: Abu Dhabi, UAECompany: Helizest Solar Energy Systems L.L.CEmployment: Full-time (project based), on-siteDate: August 13, 2025 Role OverviewOwn the project’s Health, Safety & Environment program in line with Abu Dhabi OSH Center (OSHAD) requirements, ISO 45001/14001, client specs, and UAE regulations—covering construction risks typical for solar sites (WAH, lifting, electrical, excavation, traffic, heat stress). Key ResponsibilitiesHSE Planning: Develop and implement the Project HSE Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Management Plan, Heat-Stress Management Plan, and Waste Management Plan (Tadweer compliance).Risk Management: Lead HIRAs/JSAs, task-specific SWMS, and Permit-to-Work (hot work, WAH, excavation, lifting, energized work/LOTO, confined space).Site Control: Daily HSE walks, toolbox talks, inductions, and contractor/subcontractor compliance; enforce PPE, barricading, scaffold tagging, and equipment certifications.High-Risk Activities: Approve lifting plans, oversee crane & rigging operations; ensure scaffold inspection, fall-protection systems, excavation shoring, and electrical isolation/testing.Environment: Dust/noise control, spill prevention, drainage/erosion control, waste segregation & disposal manifests, hazardous material handling.Training & Culture: Training matrix (first aid/CPR, fire warden, WAH, LOTO, rigging, heat stress), refresher programs, and behavioral safety initiatives.Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain HSE dashboards (LTI/TRIR, near misses, inspections, observations), conduct audits, lead incident investigations (root cause/5-Why), and close out corrective actions.Regulatory & Client Interface: Liaise with Abu Dhabi OSH Center/OSHAD (practitioner requirements), client HSE, and insurers; ensure statutory records, drills, and compliance audits are passed.Emergency Readiness: Conduct fire/medical drills, ambulance & clinic coordination, muster management, and seasonal heat-stress campaigns. Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s in Engineering or HSE (or equivalent).Male candidates only, with 2–5 years of relevant experience.NEBOSH IGC (Diploma preferred) mandatory; Abu Dhabi OSH Practitioner registration (or eligibility) preferred.2–5 years HSE experience with 3+ years on solar/EPC or power/utility construction in GCC.Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Fire Warden; Lifting Supervisor/Scaffold Inspector/WAH Trainer are pluses.Strong grasp of ISO 45001 & 14001, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, heat-stress management, and construction PTW systems.Excellent leadership, coaching, and incident-investigation skills; strong report writing. KPIsTRIR/LTIR improvement.Near-miss reporting rate and audit score & closure rate.PTW compliance rate and training completion %.Emergency drill frequency; regulatory non-conformities (zero tolerance).
