We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Operations to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence across our organization in Qatar. This senior executive role requires an accomplished operations professional with extensive experience in optimizing complex operational processes, driving performance improvements, and leading large-scale operational teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating strategic objectives into operational reality, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Operations Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational vision and business objectives; drive operational excellence across all functional areas.
- Operational Planning & Execution: Lead operational planning, capacity planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization to ensure seamless execution of business activities; establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization & Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies; eliminate waste, reduce costs, enhance productivity, and improve operational efficiency by 20-30%.
- Quality Management & Standards: Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance frameworks; ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and industry best practices.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Champion a culture of safety excellence; ensure full compliance with Qatar's health, safety, and environmental regulations; implement and monitor HSE programs, conduct risk assessments, and drive zero-accident initiatives.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee supply chain operations, vendor management, procurement processes, inventory control, and logistics coordination; optimize supply chain performance to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Customer Service Excellence: Drive customer satisfaction initiatives by ensuring high-quality service delivery, timely order fulfillment, and effective resolution of customer issues; establish customer feedback mechanisms and implement service improvements.
- Technology & Systems Integration: Lead the implementation and optimization of operational systems, ERP platforms, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and automation technologies to enhance operational capabilities.
- Budget & Cost Management: Develop and manage operational budgets exceeding QAR 50 million; implement cost control measures, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to ensure integrated operations and achievement of organizational goals; serve as a key liaison between operations and executive leadership.
- Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Ensure operations comply with all relevant Qatari laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies; maintain licenses, permits, and certifications; coordinate with regulatory authorities as needed.
- Performance Analytics & Reporting: Establish robust operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks; analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement; provide regular reports to senior management and Board of Directors.
- Crisis Management & Business Continuity: Develop and implement business continuity plans, disaster recovery procedures, and crisis management protocols to ensure operational resilience and minimize business disruptions.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire a diverse team of 50-200+ operations professionals across multiple locations; foster a high-performance culture; provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities; manage succession planning and talent retention.
- Facility & Asset Management: Oversee facility operations, maintenance programs, and capital asset management; ensure optimal utilization of physical infrastructure, equipment, and technology assets.
