Quality Assurance & Control: Develop, implement, and maintain MEP quality assurance and control procedures in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards. Conduct inspections and audits of MEP work during design, procurement, installation, and commissioning to ensure compliance with the approved design documents. Identify non-conformities and discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Prepare and maintain quality control documentation such as inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and test records. Ensure that MEP installations are completed to meet the required standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Testing & Commissioning: Coordinate and supervise MEP system testing and commissioning activities, including witness testing and verification of systems' functionality and compliance with design specifications. Conduct performance testing, including pressure tests, leak tests, and functional tests for MEP systems. Ensure the proper documentation of all test results and commissioning reports. Provide technical support during the commissioning phase to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
Coordination & Communication: Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure that quality standards are met across all MEP aspects of the project. Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure they understand and adhere to quality requirements. Attend site meetings to discuss quality issues, progress, and mitigation strategies for quality-related challenges. Ensure that quality control procedures are communicated to all relevant stakeholders, including the project team and subcontractors.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality control inspections, test reports, and certifications. Prepare and submit regular QA/QC reports to senior management, highlighting key issues, actions taken, and progress. Ensure all quality-related documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements and client expectations. Monitor and track outstanding issues and ensure prompt resolution.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all MEP installations comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and regulations. Stay updated on changes in construction codes, standards, and best practices for MEP systems. Review and approve materials, equipment, and workmanship for compliance with quality specifications. Conduct regular quality checks and audits on site to ensure adherence to quality procedures.
Training & Development: Provide training and guidance to site staff and subcontractors on quality control procedures and standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence within the team. Identify opportunities for improving the quality management system and report these to senior management.
