· A dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join as Software Developer to develop, upgrade & implement software & various online services to meet academic, academic support services & students community.
· Lead and manage the research team, setting clear objectives, identifying training needs, and addressing performance management issues as necessary.
· Develop and implement both external and internal research strategies in alignment with the University’s overall vision.
· Explore and define key strategic objectives for long-term research, reviewing and refining strategies to enhance research outcomes.
· Effectively communicate complex information to colleagues through workshops, one-on-one coaching, and other methods to ensure clarity and understanding.
· Identify opportunities to align the University’s expertise with external opportunities, promoting a research and enterprise-focused culture across the institution.
· Critically assess and provide guidance on high-priority research projects, coaching staff to improve research quality and success rates.
· Ensure the efficient delivery of research services, optimizing operations and outcomes.
· Conduct risk assessments for major research projects, particularly large-scale research initiatives.
· Manage post-award research and enterprise support activities, including audits and compliance checks.
· Advise on legal and governance matters relating to research, including Intellectual Property Rights and research ethics.
· Commit to ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in research.
· Represent Research & Enterprise in various university activities, including delivering briefings, presentations, and organizing events.
· Build and maintain relationships with national and international academic communities, funding bodies, and research networks to foster collaborative opportunities and increase income generation.
· Actively participate in relevant university committees, presenting papers and taking a leadership role as required.
· Use data analysis to improve research programs and address client needs, setting and evaluating program outcomes.
· Develop and deliver training, CPD sessions, and briefings to staff on topics related to external income generation.
· Analyze and interpret complex research and innovation data for senior leadership, including KPIs, benchmarking, and competitor analysis.
· Play an integral role in the Research leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and initiatives.
· Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management, in line with the role and its grading.
